Welcome to Clear Lake Boys Basketball

The 2015 CLBB regular season has come to a close.  We completed our Tournament Championship games Monday and Wednesday night and had the All-Star games in the Junior and Major divisions.  All of the games were well played, good sportsmanship exhibited and lots of smiles from players and good (mostly) from parents and fans.  It is amazing to me how quickly the season went.  Seems like yesterday when we had player tryouts and the team’s draft and now all of a sudden, the season is over.  I believe it is because of how smoothly the season went.  Yes, there were a few minor bumps during the season, but considering we had over 40 teams and 320 boys playing CLBB this season, I could not have asked for better!!
My recap from the tournament finals week is that it was a very busy week for all involved.  Started with games Saturday – doubleheaders for those teams who won.  I was able to make it to all the gyms we played in and saw a lot of great basketball played –all the players were giving it their all and it was fun to watch.  Saturday’s games at Clear Brook HS had to be moved due to a water main break repairs and I think we had only one or two players not make it to the new gym.  Thank you CCISD for getting us into the new gym.  Now sure what we would have done without your help.  We also worked around the Clear Lake HS boys final game Saturday.  Moved the semifinal games to Monday to accommodate the final game (Lake going to state!!) and playing the semifinal games.  The finals games were very spirited.  In the Senior Division, the LSU Tigers went undefeated all season.  They were very tough, athletic and fast.  Coach Joe Moreno’s team in the Pros won both the regular season and championship games.  Tom Argue’s and Joe Mill’s teams in the Junior 9’s and 10’s took home both awards as well.  There were spirited games in the Major Divisions.  Very competitive and hard played.  Congratulations to all the winning teams.
The 2015 CLBB Regular Season has been a great success due to all the support of the CLBB Board Members, Coaches, Parents, Fans and Players.  CCISD has been very accommodating to us and we have had only 1 partial cancellation the entire season.  We have not had to utilize elementary school gyms and we have been able to use the Clear Lake Rec Center and St. Bernadette’s gyms more this year than in previous years.   Thank You All from the CLBB Board!!

We hope all had a positive experience playing CLBB this year.  Please let us know your ideas to make CLBB better for next year.  We have had wonderful support from the community for over 30 years and would like to continue this tradition with your help and support.  All input will be appreciated and considered.
